Corey Courtney

Corey is in his 26th season with the Stars in 2025-26 as their athletic trainer and equipment manager and his 30th in the USHL overall after spending four years in the same role with the Dubuque Fighting Saints. The Dubuque, Iowa, native graduated from St. Mary’s University in conjunction with Winona State University of Winona, Minn. with a degree in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training. While attending St. Mary’s, Courtney played two years of college hockey.

Courtney has been nominated as USHL trainer/equipment manager for four USA Top Prospect tournaments, 12 All-Stars games, four USA select teams, twice has been nominated as a trainer for the Team USA Viking Cup team and has also previously served as the trainer for the World Junior Team. He has served as an athletic trainer for Team USA in Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as here in the U.S.

Courtney also serves as the head athletic trainer for Nebraska Orthopedic Center and the Lincoln Saltdogs baseball team. He is the director of the sports medicine outreach program for Bryan Health and Nebraska Orthopedic Center.
The Dubuque, Iowa, native graduated from St. Mary's University in conjunction with Winona State University of Winona, Minn. with a degree in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training. Courtney also played two years of college hockey at St. Mary's.

Corey resides in Lincoln. He has two daughters, Taylor and Elizabeth, and a son, Nick.
