The Lincoln Stars concluded the 2022 portion of their schedule with a 6-1 loss to the Tri-City Storm on Saturday night at the Viaero Center.
Mason Marcellus scored the Stars' second shorthanded goal of the season in the second period but that was all Lincoln could muster Saturday night. His eighth of the season keeps him tied for eighth in the USHL with 29 points.
The Storm scored two goals in all three periods and got a pair of tallies from August Falloon. Three of his four goals in the 2022-23 season have comes against the Stars. Tri-City cashed in on a pair of two-on-one rushes in the first period with the first tally from Falloon coming 26 seconds after the opening puckdrop.
The season series between Lincoln and Tri-City sits tied at 4-4 after the Stars won three of the first four matchups to open the season. The Stars and the Storm next match up Jan. 13-14 in a home-and-home series with the second game at the Ice Box.
Lincoln returns home next weekend for the first time since Dec. 16 when it hosts the Fargo Force Jan. 6-7. The Stars sit eight points back of the first-place Force and split a pair of games with them at the Ice Box Dec. 2-3. Tickets for both games can be purchased now at  lincolnstars.com
