Mason Marcellus scored his 10th of the season but the Lincoln Stars fell to the Sioux City Musketeers, 4-1, on Saturday night at the Tyson Events Center.
Marcellus cashed in on the power play at the 15:11 mark of the third for a goal on the Stars' lone power play of the night. Each of Lincoln's last three goals have come on the power play.
Tanner Ludtke picked up the secondary assist on Marcellus's goal to extend both players' point streaks to eight games. Waterloo's Caden Brown entered the evening with an eight-game point streak of his own to lead the USHL among active streaks.
Neither team scored in the first period for the second night in a row but Sawyer Scholl put Sioux City on the board first at the 1:13 mark of the second period. Ben Doran scored the eventual game-winner on a redirection on the power play at 9:00 of the second.
The Musketeers doubled up their lead with a pair of goals 4:49 into the third. Ben Morque scored his second goal in as many days on a wrist shot in the slot at the 2:54 mark before Dylan Godbout added another tally just 1:55 later.
