STARS DROP FIRST MATCHUP WITH SIOUX CITY

YAVASH SCORES STARS' LONE GOAL

German Yavash tallied his first goal of the season but the Lincoln Stars fell to the Sioux City Musketeers, 7-1, on Saturday night at the Tyson Events Center.

Lincoln (3-4-0-1) failed to bounce back after a loss for the first time in four instances this season. Sioux City (5-2-3-0) scored at least twice in each period, including three times in the third.

Yavash put the Stars on the board at the 18:55 mark of the second period. His wrist shot from the slot was denied but the rebound ricocheted off a defender and into the net for his first goal of the season and cut the deficit to three.

The Stars continue their road swing next week by traveling to Waterloo on Friday and then Des Moines on Friday. Lincoln's next home game is Nov. 4 against Cedar Rapids on Military Night. Tickets can be purchased here.
