TWO-GOAL LEAD NOT ENOUGH AGAINST DES MOINES

OLIVER, PECHAR AND MANGAN SCORE

The Lincoln Stars took a two-goal lead early in the second period but could not hold it, falling to the Des Moines Buccaneers, 4-3, on Saturday night at Buccaneer Arena.

Dashel Oliver scored in the final minute of the first period and Jack Pechar tallied 12 seconds into the second to give Lincoln (3-6-0-1) a 2-0 lead, but Des Moines (3-6-2-0) scored the game's next four goals to earn the victory. Jack Kernan scored twice in the second, including 12 seconds after Pechar's goal, and Paul Minnehan lit the lamp twice in the third period to lead the Buccaneers to victory.

Jared Mangan scored his team-leading fifth goal with three minutes left in the third to put the Stars back within one goal

The Stars conclude their stretch of five consecutive road games next Friday when they take on Sioux Falls at 7:05 p.m. Lincoln's next home game is next Saturday against Cedar Rapids on Military Night at the Ice Box. Purchase tickets here.
