JANVIRIYA, PETERS SCORE FIRST GOALS BUT STARS FALL TO STORM

DROP THANKSGIVING EVE GAME AT HOME

The Lincoln Stars could not stop their losing streak as they fell to the Tri-City Storm, 5-3, on Wednesday night at the Ice Box.

Lincoln (3-12-0-2) twice scored after falling behind by two goals but could not do it a third time to tie the game. Keaton Peters, Kai Janviriya and Adam Kleber all scored for the Stars in defeat.

Tri-City (11-7-1-0) took a 3-1 lead after the first period and led for the rest of the game from Owen Beckner's power-play goal at the 15:29 mark. AJ Lacroix scored 47 seconds later on a delayed penalty to give the Storm their first-of-three two-goal leads.

Trevor Connelly scored the first and last goals of the game, striking 1:12 into the game and then scoring on a cross-ice lob empty-net goal at the 19:10 mark of the third.

Peters tied the game with his first of the season at the 7:33 mark of the first. Nikolas Young dropped the puck off to Peters right behind him atop the right circle and Peters took care of the rest for his first goal of the season.

Janviriya scored the first of a combined three goals between the two teams in the second period. Peters set him up and Janviriya's shot caromed off the stick of Storm goaltender Cameron Korpi and went top shelf for his first goal as a member of the Stars.

August Falloon scored the eventual game-winning goal on a three-on-one rush at the 16:55 mark of the second. Kleber scored a power-play goal with 0.4 seconds left in the second by wristing a shot from the left-wing side for his third goal and second power-play goal.

The Stars are off for the holiday on Thursday before taking on Sioux Falls at 3:05 on Friday and Omaha at 6:05 on Saturday on the road both days. Each of the Stars' next four games are on the road before returning home Dec. 8-10 against Fargo.
