STARS CAN'T STOP U18's POWER PLAY, FALL FRIDAY NIGHT

PETERS SCORES TEAM-LEADING 18TH GOAL

The Lincoln Stars surrendered three power-play goals and lost to the United States National Team Development Program's U18 team on Friday night at USA Hockey Arena.

Keaton Peters scored his team-leading 18th goal of the season in the third period but Lincoln (19-21-2-2) dropped its third straight game and back-to-back in regulation for just the second time since Thanksgiving.

Brendan McMorrow lead the way for the NTDP (14-23-1-1), scoring twice in the first period. Cole Eiserman, Teddy Stiga and LJ Mooney all scored power-play goals for the U18's. Eiserman's gave NTDP the lead for good at the 16:10 mark at the second before Stiga and Mooney cashed in twice 4:21 into the third period.

Jared Mangan opened the scoring 4:29 into the game by one-timing a feed by Matthew Maltais from behind the net. That lead lasted 1:22 before McMorrow's first of the night. He gave NTDP the lead again at the 17:42 mark.

Dashel Oliver slipped behind the defense left-wing side and scored his eighth goal of the season 25 seconds into the second. It remained tied, 2-2, until Eiserman's blast from the right wing at the 16:10 mark.

Peters scored on a similar goal to that of Mangan's, this time off a pass from Ryan Spinale. His goal came at the 3:09 mark of the third in between Stiga's power-play tally at the 1:34 mark and Monney's man-advantage strike 4:21 in.

Lincoln concludes the weekend Saturday night against the NTDP again, this time against the U17's. The puck drops at 6 p.m. CST.
