STARS FALL TO STEEL FRIDAY NIGHT

Jared Mangan scored for the second straight day but the Lincoln Stars fell to the Chicago Steel, 6-1, on Friday night at the Ice Box.

Lincoln (22-25-3-2) attempted a season-high 50 shots but saw its losing streak hit five games (0-4-1). Mangan netted a power-play goal 16:01 into the first to cut the score to 2-1. His 20th of the season moved him into a tie with Blake Montgomery and Keaton Peters for the team lead.

Chicago (23-23-3-4) scored twice in each period to earn its second win of the week. Mick Thompson scored twice and added two assists while Michael Hage, Michael Hagens and Joey DelGreco each recorded a goal and an assist apiece. Goaltender Louka Cloutier stopped 49 shots to earn the win.

The Stars wrap up the three-game weekend on Saturday night at 6:05 as they face the Steel again in their final matchup with an Eastern Conference opponent this season. It's Taylor Swift Night and the first 500 fans will receive a friendship bracelet designed by Stars players. The first 200 fans will also receive a Stars Taylor Swift-themed poster.
