LANCERS SHUT OUT STARS

LINCOLN DROPS STEM GAME

Kam Hendrickson stopped 46 shots and the Omaha Lancers defeated the Lincoln Stars, 2-0, on Wednesday afternoon at the Ice Box.

Will Elger picked up a loose puck behind David Deputy and scored the game's first goal at the 15:55 mark of the second. Deputy was tripped up on a breakaway but Elger found the loose puck and broke the ice with the game's first goal and eventual game-winner. Nick Pierre added an empty-net tally at the 19:43 mark of the third.

The Stars sit two points back of the Des Moines Buccaneers for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference with six games remaining in the regular season.

Lincoln plays its next five games at home, continuing on Friday at 7:05 p.m. against the Sioux Falls Stampede. All 16 oz. draft pours of Goal Line Amber Ale by Empyrean Brewing Company are $3. The Stars host the Tri-City Storm on Saturday night at 6:05 on Down Syndrome Awareness Night. They will be wearing specialty uniforms that will be auctioned off after the game. Tickets for all remaining home games can be purchased at lincolnstars.com.
