FORCE SHUT OUT STARS

STARS FACE LANCERS THURSDAY

Hampton Slukynsky stopped all 31 shots that he faced and the Fargo Force defeated the Lincoln Stars, 5-0, on Saturday night at Scheels Arena.

Fargo (42-7-2-0) opened the scoring with three goals 4:55 apart in the first period. Zam Plante got it started 3:06 into the game before Jake Fisher and Leo Gruba also scored at the 5:00 and 8:01 marks, respectively.

Lincoln (22-24-2-2) had an opportunity to chip into the deficit midway through the second period when Gavin Morrisey received a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct for a knee-on-knee hit on Kai Janviriya. The Force killed off the Stars' first power play of the night and retained the 3-0 lead.

The Stars will play their third consecutive three-game weekend next week as they face the Omaha Lancers on Thursday night before hosting the Chicago Steel Mar. 15-16. Tickets can be purchased at lincolnstars.com.
