STARS DROP FINAL GAME OF FALL CLASSIC

LIN 3 CHI 4

Chicago, IL. —  The Lincoln Stars (0-2-0-0) dropped game two of the USHL Fall Classic 4-3 to the Chicago Steel.

The Stars would strike first in the contest. Henry Steele found himself with an empty-net opportunity after a miscommunication between the Steel coaching staff and their goaltender to give the Stars the early lead. Lincoln would hold that advantage into the second period.

Chicago knotted the game at one on a breakaway, scoring their first goal at the new USG arena. Lincoln would answer nine minutes later on a goal by Jack Holland, who tallied his first USHL goal in his hometown of Chicago. Lincoln would send the game into the intermission with the 2-1 lead.

Chicago would score three times in the opening eight minutes of the frame, including two goals on breakaways and a third on the power-play. Tommy Browne added a goal late, but the first eight minute stretch doomed Lincoln, and the Stars would fall 4-3 to end the Fall Classic.

The Stars return to action in Sioux City on Saturday.
