LINCOLN, Neb. —  Lincoln Stars General Manager Nick Fabrizio announced today that the Stars have named Daniel Howard as an assistant-coach, finalizing the Stars' coaching staff for the 2026-27 season. 

"I am honored to join the Lincoln Stars, a franchise with a deep and storied history in this league and a reputation for developing players at the highest level." Howard said. "I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to contribute to its next chapter. 

Howard joins the Stars staff alongside fellow assistant coach Nick Bruneteau under Head Coach Artt Brey. Before joining the Stars, he spent several years coaching in the New Jersey Titans organization. While with the Titans, Howard worked with New Jersey's Tier 1 program while also contributing to player development and scouting within the organization, including working in tandem with the Titans' North American Hockey League staff.

"I would like to thank the New Jersey Titans and George Haviland, who has been in my corner for more than 30 years. First as my coach and more recently as the person who guided me through the early years of my coaching career." Howard said. "That same gratitude extends to everyone in USA Hockey's Atlantic District, who helped me in player development and provided me with invaluable opportunities to learn and grow as a coach."

Howard played juniors for the Walpole Stars in the EJHL and the Bismarck Bobcats of the AWHL. At the University of Delaware, he was a two-time All American and was selected to play for Team USA at the World University Games in Tarvisio, Italy. After college, he played 2 years of professional hockey with stops in the UHL and SPHL.
