STARS FALL IN HOME OPENER 4-0

STORM STIFLE STARS ICE BOX RETURN

Lincoln, NE. —  The Lincoln Stars (1-3-0-0) were shutout in the home opener at the Ice Box by the Tri-City Storm (3-2-0-0) 4-0 on Friday night.

The first period began with a raucous crowd and punches being thrown, as there was a plethora of physical confrontations in the first ten minutes of the contest. The Storm struck first however, taking advantage of a five-minute major power-play to take the early 1-0 lead. The score would hold into the first intermission.

The Storm would add another tally in the second, taking the two goal lead, and holding the advantage into a third period, where they added two more empty-net tallies to end the game on top 4-0.

Stars goaltender William Prowse (Boston University) made 29 saves on 31 shots in the loss.

The Stars return to action on Friday, October 9th, at the Ice Box against the Des Moines Buccaneers.
